About the Artist

Leanne Rachel Allen is a digital and hand-drawn illustrator based in Wales. She has been drawing since she could hold a pencil to paper and draws inspiration for her unique illustration style from the expressive and emotive worlds of books and animation. Her style of combining both traditional and digital media helps to create dynamic and charming visual content to aid in charismatic and unforgettable story-telling. Leanne loves creating character concepts and working with authors and publishers to help realise their creative visions.

Leanne has received formal artistic training and holds a BA honours degree in General Illustration from Swansea Metropolitan University (now called the University of Wales Trinity Saint David). Over the past ten years, Leanne has travelled All over the world and taught Art and English internationally in both Europe and Asia. Leanne has a developed a vast knowledge of Book illustration and design Illustrating over 30 books from Children's picture book, Middle grade and Young adult fantasy, . She now currently lives in South Wales with her husband, many cosy blankets and a jumble of art supplies.
